Aberdeen Highland Games

  • What: The 18th Aberdeen Highland Games. More than 7,000 people are expected to travel from throughout Australia for the 17th Aberdeen Highland Games. There is music, dancing, strong men, egg races, caber tosses, tug-of-war and other activities. Of course there will be stalls selling specialised celtic and Scottish goods, including the infamous haggis. Later that evening you can join in a Scottish gathering or Ceilidh at St Joseph’s High School hall.
  • When: 8am until late Saturday.
  • Where: Jefferson Park, New England Highway, Aberdeen.
  • Cost: Adult $25, children 13-18 & concession $20, under 12 free, family $50. Discounts apply if pre-booking at TryBooking.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate.

St Joseph’s Campdraft and Fete

  • What: St Joseph’s Primary School Merriwa is holding their annual campdraft and fete to raise money for their school. There are more than 300 runs booked plus face painting, market stalls, high tea, lucky dips, petting zoo, busking and much more.
  • When: 9am – 4pm
  • Where: Merriwa Showground, Merriwa.
