• What: A film starring David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike, based on extraordinary true events. In 1947, Seretse Khama, a university student and the future King of Botswana, met Ruth Williams, a London office worker. They were a perfect match, yet their proposed marriage was challenged not only by their families but by the British and South African governments. Their love story shook the Commonwealth.
• When: 7:30pm, Friday night.
• Where: Senior Citizen’s Hall, Oxford Road and Cooper Street, Scone.
• Cost: $12 from Hunt-a-Book or at the door. People under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
