UPPER Hunter Mayor Wayne Bedggood was keen to see the details of Resources for Regions road funding for Muswellbrook, believing there might be something in it for his shire.

Funding announced on Friday in Muswellbrook by Deputy Premier John Barilaro included $7.7million for 10 different road projects and intersections around Muswellbrook.

Cr Bedggood commented on the funding while attending drought discussions at a Scone property on Friday.

“I haven’t seen the details yet,” Cr Bedggood said and during the funding announcement Member for Upper Hunter Michael Johnsen was reluctant to clarify the details without having the details in front of him.

Funding for the Hunter also included $2.5million for revitalisation of Denman town centre.

This latest Resources for Regions funding is round five of the arrangement that provides money to mining communities.

Mr Barilaro also announced a further $50million in new funding would be reserved for round six of the Resources for Regions program and would be part of the up-coming 2018/19 state budget.

This next round would be open on June 12.
