Women Shaping Their Future Together

Filed in Recent News by October 13, 2016

WOMEN living in regional Australia often face common challenges such as going long periods without seeing friends and family, getting tractors out of a bog, mustering livestock, managing the books, volunteering for local organisations and caring for family.

The NSW Department of Primary Industries recognises women living in regional areas can feel isolated and need to recharge by spending time with other women who can relate and together can learn new strategies for managing living on the land, so has developed the “Shaping Out Futures Together” program.

It is a two day course with modules for developing self-esteem, networking, goal setting, leadership and communication; with practical strategies for how to say no, coping with difficult times, managing relationships and relaxation sessions.

The course is funded by the Rural Resilience Program with priority given to primary producers, with lunches, morning and afternoon tea provided; attendees would need to pay their own travel and if required accommodation.
