Inaugural Ball for Where There’s A Will

SOME of the best war planes in the world are about to be bumped from their home for a night with the Where There’s a Will Foundation set to host their Inaugural Rainbow Ball in the Pay’s Aircraft hangar on Saturday, November 17.

The spectacular location will come alive for the black tie event, with guests to enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapes on the runway before moving into the hangar for a sit-down dinner.

Guest speaker Professor Lea Waters, who has been instrumental to the rollout of the visible well-being programmes being implemented in Upper Hunter schools, will give guests a sense of what this means for children in the area before Brett Martin, one of Sydney’s hottest DJ’s brings the dance floor to life.

The Rainbow Ball will be the first major fundraiser hosted by the Where there’s a Will Foundation and Chair Jane Callinan said it will be a night to remember.

“We’ve had everything from 3 year old children selling eggs to raise money for Where there’s a Will through to hats being passed around at rodeos, cake stalls, dress up days and of course some of the phenomenal efforts from our sporting teams but this is the first time we’ve done something ourselves,” Ms Callinan said.

“We’re on a mission to make it a night filled with fun so guests experience the boost to their well-being that comes with connecting with friends and being a part of something that is bigger than themselves,” she said.

“The funds raised will help us maintain our whole of community based push to improved well-being and mental health in the Upper Hunter – we’ve called it the Rainbow Ball because we’re all about bringing colour to lives!

“Over the past two years we’ve been able to provide significant assistance to schools in the implementation of well-being programmes and we’ve also provided extensive training opportunities in positive education for teachers.

“More funding will help us expand this education and training to sporting organisations and other key community groups so that ultimately we have an entire community working together on initiatives that will help young and old flourish and thrive,” Jane Callinan said.

Interest in the event is already high with a number of guests expected to come from out of town to experience a great country Ball.

“We might be only a small town but we’re well equipped to deliver a top quality event,” said Ms Callinan.

“We’ve got Hunted Gourmet catering, the Event Storeroom will help bring the hangar to life and then of course there’s our amazing hairdressers and fashion options to ensure everyone is looking sharp on the night!” she said.

Tickets are $250 per person including canapes, dinner, dessert, wine and beer.
