Council Applies For Local Project Funding

THE Upper Hunter Shire Council has submitted a list of local projects in an application for $1million in funding from the federal government’s Drought Community Program.

There were 45 projects put forward and after community consultation the following nine projects were put forward:

  • Murrurundi Rosedale canteen upgrade: $250,000
  • Merriwa Pool barbecue area: $20,000
  • Aberdeen river walk: $50,000
  • Moonan Flat Hall tank and pipes from river for fire control: $100,000
  • Rouchel tennis courts upgrade: $150,000
  • Gundy tennis courts upgrade: $70,000
  • Wingen Abbotsford Park new toilet blocks: $120,000
  • Scone White Park, Campdraft Arena: $204,000
  • Creation of an Adverse Event Plan for Upper Hunter Shire: $20,000
