Government Releases Cases by Postcode

Filed in Just In by April 3, 2020

THIS morning the Premier announced the government has made postcode data publicly available, so that people can search a database to check the number of coronavirus cases in their community.

“…New South Wales is the first jurisdiction to have postcode data available, publicly available,” said the Premier.

“Whenever we have publicly available information please be assured we’ll share that with you,” she said.

“We always believe in New South Wales as I’m sure many other governments around Australia do, that it’s better for the public to have the information,” she said.

“All of us can handle the information, all of us want to know what’s going on…so we’ve made sure there is data available which reduces everything to the postcode,” she said.

“You look up a postcode to see what’s happening in your community, because information is key during this process and we want to make sure everybody has that information,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.

The database shows there is:

  • 1 case in the Scone area (2337)
  • no cases in the Aberdeen area (2336)
  • no cases in the Merriwa area (2329)
  • no cases in the Murrurundi area (2338)
  • 1 case in the Muswellbrook area (2333)
  • 3 cases in the Singleton area (2330)
