Paddling to Support Local Women

SCONE resident, Sharna Parkinson is encouraging local women to celebrate International Women’s Day with a paddle on Glenbawn Dam this Sunday.

“Women can bring a paddle board, kayak, basically anything that floats for a couple of hours on the water, take some cool photos and help support women in our local area with a $5 donation to the Domestic Violence Support and Advisory service based in the Hunter,” said Ms Parkinson.

“With so much in the media at the moment about domestic violence, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to support a service in our local area,” she said.
