A GOOD chance of showers for the Upper Hunter from Thursday onwards, with possible thunderstorms predicted on the weekend.

A high pressure system will develop over the next few days, which will build up moisture from the north east tropical area.

The second half of the week will see another trough come through from the north, providing more unsettled weather conditions and a chance of rain over the weekend, with the Upper Hunter expected to receive between ten and 20 millimetres.

A slight chance of rain today in Scone and partly cloudy conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The maximum temperature in Scone today is 22 degrees.
