Roadworks Rear End

Filed in Recent News by May 23, 2017

THERE was a rear end accident over the weekend at the Turanville roadworks.

The accident involved a 4wd and a trayback ute who were both travelling north approaching the traffic lights at the start of the roadworks, the driver of the 4wd said the sun was in his eyes and he didn’t see the ute in front of him, the airbags deployed in the 4wd but minimal damage occurred to the trayback ute which was able to leave the scene.

The Roads and Maritime Services in charge of the roadworks indicate sometime in late June so there will be a few more weeks of roadworks yet to be completed.

“Work on the New England Highway upgrade between Aberdeen and Scone is expected to be completed in late June 2017, weather permitting. Temporary lane closures and a reduced 40km/h speed limit are in place during work hours for the safety of workers and motorists. Motorists are advised to plan their journey, drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control,” an RMS spokesperson said.
