TEE times were created from 6.30am to avoid the extreme heat conditions on Saturday January 4 at Scone Golf Course. The field of 27 players played an 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford for the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug.

Mac Dawson had a fine round of two over par 74 for 69 nett to be the first Mug winner for 2020. A Grade was won by Mick Alsleben who had 37 points beating Ross Banks on a countback. Jock O’Connor also won on a countback from Troy Collison in B Grade when they both had 36 points. Red Palmer won C Grade with 36 points also.

Balls went to all these players plus Joel Harrison 36, George Davidson 35, Stuart Dawson 34 and Charlie Wintle 33 points.

The NTP’s were won by Mac Dawson on the 4th / 13th with a shot to 3.78 metres whilst Mick Alsleben won the 8th / 17th with the same distance!

On Saturday, January 11 Jeff Harrington and Tony O’Neill will sponsor an event a little different from the norm. Golfers will play an 18 Hole Individual and 2 Ball Worst Ball Stableford. This event requires the worst score for the pair on each hole to be recorded, with this hopefully not too bad although wipes are certainly hard to recover from! A score in the low 30’s has been good enough to win previously!

The popular 9 Hole Yellow Tee Challenge played on Wednesday’s will return on January 8. The ladies 9 Hole Stableford competition will resume on Thursday January 16 playing for the Asser House voucher.
