Senior Shoppers Prioritised

Filed in Just In by March 16, 2020

STARTING tomorrow Woolworths in Scone will give our seniors exclusive access to the store for one hour, between 7am and 8am to do their shopping.

Senior shoppers will need to present one of the following:

  • Seniors card;
  • Australian disability parking permit;
  • Pensioner concession card;
  • Commonwealth seniors health card, or
  • Australian Capital Territory card.

If you are shopping for a senior person, you must present their card.

The store will also be closing at 8pm, beginning tomorrow, which will be reviewed on Friday night.

Unfortunately many staff are being treated rudely by many members of our community and it is taking its toll with some considering stress leave.

Management explained local staff are not aware of when trucks may arrive at the moment,due to extra deliveries and delays due to the increased pressure to supply come items. Staff can also not confirm what is on board the trucks at the moment, until they unpack them.

PLEASE do not be rude to our local staff who are working long hours to help get everyday supplies to our community.

Rumours that “Asians” from out of town are responsible for the shortages have been heard by local staff, which they confirm is COMPLETELY untrue.

Further, many locals who have already stockpiled are continuing to stockpile the same items everyday, leaving most of the community without the basics.
