ANYTIME Fitness in Scone is donating the use of two treadmills for 24 hours from 3pm tomorrow to raise funds for Suicide Prevention Australia.
Fiona Sheldrake is the Gym Manager at Scone’s Anytime Fitness and is pleased to be able to donate the use of the facilities for an important cause.
“It is a nation wide Anytime Fitness initiative to raise money for Suicide Prevention Australia, it is a 24 hour treadmill challenge, we have donated two treadmills out of our 5 to hopefully run for 24 hours straight starting tomorrow from 3pm Friday to 3pm Saturday afternoon,” Fiona Sheldrake said.
“You can book your 15 minute time slot or 30 minutes if you wish, it is 15 dollars for 15 minutes, you can walk, run or dance and we do encourage dressing up so it is just a bit of fun, all money will be going to Suicide Prevention Australia, we also have ASN showbags that are selling for 5 dollars as well.
“This is our first year Anytime Fitness in Scone has been a participant, they are trying to raise 500 000 dollars this year, last year they raised over 400 000 dollars, you can contact me at the club on 02 6545 1631. or if you want to book a time slot it is all done online at www.treadtogether.org.au ,” said Fiona Sheldrake.
Members are already getting on board with some like Camilla Rea registering a few weeks ago and encouraging others to get on board to help the cause.
“I registered online the other week, gave the donation and I am doing a fifteen minute walk on the treadmill, I think it is a great cause, I saw the link on the Anytime Fitness facebook page and spoke to Fiona,” Camilla Rea said.
“Others should get on board, register and do their 15 minutes, I am doing early Saturday morning, I am an early riser,” she said.
