Two women stabbed in Muswellbrook

AT approximately 7pm last night police and were called to a home on Pacific Way in Muswellbrook to find a 27 year old Macksville man in the front yard allegedly armed with a pair of scissors and carrying an 11 month old baby girl.

Police tried to get the man to release the baby, but he refused.

When he briefly placed the baby on the ground, police deployed a taser and arrested him.

A 30 year old Macksville woman was airlifted from scene to the John Hunter Hospital with a stab wound, from scissors, to her right eye and a 28 year old Muswellbrook woman was taken to hospital for a stab wound to her upper left arm and face.

There were five children aged between 11 months at sever years of age, at home during the incident, but none were physically injured.
