SOME light rain has fallen overnight across the Upper Hunter with 0.4mm in Murrurundi, 5.0mm in Merriwa and Scone receiving 1.6mm to nine o’clock this morning.
The Bureau of Meteorology has indicated that light showers are expected to continue today and into tomorrow with the possibility of thunder storms tomorrow producing isolated heavier falls.
Thursday will see a front come across the region with warm tropical moist air from Queensland predicted to drop widespread rainfall, storms are again possible with heavier falls predicted in the higher areas.
Temperatures for the region are expected to range from the high 20’s to low 30’s with the wet weather clearing for a mostly sunny weekend.
More broadly during the December – February period there is a likelihood of median rainfall, with higher than average temperatures.
