Weather Update: Rain and Thunderstorms

Filed in Just In by October 22, 2020

WIDESPREAD showers and possible storms are predicted for the Upper Hunter this evening, as la Niña begins to take effect.

Showers are expected to continue through to next Tuesday, with Saturday and Sunday forecasted as the biggest days for rain.

Three pressure systems are currently creating a build up of moisture across New South Wales, generating unsettled and stormy conditions for the coming days.

Thunderstorm activity is forecast to peak and become widespread on Friday and Saturday and will be followed by a southwest cold front with significantly cooler conditions.

The Upper Hunter is expected to receive between ten and 20 millimetres of rainfall come Sunday afternoon.
