Weather: The week ahead

FEBRUARY weather conditions have returned to the Upper Hunter this week, with possible severe thunderstorms predicted for this afternoon.

Moist environments, wind and humidity levels that have funnelled in during the summer season, coupled with warm temperatures are expected to give-way to various thunderstorm development throughout the week.

Cloudy conditions will continue tomorrow and Wednesday, with a shower or two and a small chance of thunderstorms during the afternoons.

A distinct trough will move through on Thursday and Friday, bringing more thunderstorm and rainfall activity, with the Upper Hunter expected to receive up to 15 millimetres of rain on Thursday, followed by another ten millimetres on Friday.

The Glenbawn Dam is currently at 50.2 percent capacity.

A maximum temperature of 33 today in Scone.
