Weather: The Week Ahead

Filed in Recent News by August 19, 2019

AFTER a warm weekend, a cold front moved through the Upper Hunter last night, bringing strong south westerly winds from the southern Ocean, these conditions are expected to continue through until Thursday morning.

The Bureau of Meteorology has advised the wind chill this week will make the temperatures feel like half the normal temperature.

Last night Merriwa received 1.4ml of rain, but no more rain is expected in the region this week.

Tonight is predicted to have little cloud cover with some areas in the Upper Hunter possibly seeing frost in the morning.

A smaller cold front will pass through Wednesday night bringing with it some cloud cover into Thursday, no rain is expected as the BOM indicates the air mass above it is to dry.

As the high pressure system rolls across Australia for the weekend the winds will ease and the temperature will slowly increase with a top of 23 degrees predicted for Saturday.

Expected temperatures for Scone this week:

  • Monday: 5 – 17;
  • Tuesday: 0 – 19;
  • Wednesday: 3 – 19;
