Weather: The Week Ahead

Filed in Recent News by January 6, 2020

TODAY and tomorrow there will be milder temperatures with a maximum of 35 degrees predicted.

There is a high pressure system in the Tasman Sea and another in Bass Strait below Tasmania, which is driving the weather patters.

The Scone area is also sandwiched between two troughs, one in the western part of New South Wales and another in the north east, which may create storms during the next few days and the chance of isolated rain.

As the trough moves further there will be a change coming through with winds from the east and south-east of approximately 25 to 30 kilometres an hour, reaching slightly more in higher areas of the Upper Hunter.

On Thursday the heat will come back and temperatures are predicted to be in the low 40s.

Predicted temperatures this week:

  • Monday: 18-35;
  • Tuesday: 20-39;
  • Wednesday: 21-39;
  • Thursday: 19-33;
  • Friday: 20-40;
  • Saturday: 25-33;
  • Sunday: 16-25.
