Neighbourhood Auction Night and Yabby Race

  • What: The Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre is holding a auction to fundraise for their vital community service support, including the yabby races! All money raised go back into SNRC community programs including the Morning Bites Breakfast Van, Christmas in the Park, Family Fun Day.
  • When: 7pm, Friday, March 13.
  • Where: Scone RSL Club, 71 Guernsey Street, Scone.
  • Cost: $10 per head. BYO basket supper.

Scone Films

  • What: Presents A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, the story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod, starring Tom Hanks and Matthew Rhys.
  • When: 7:30pm, Friday, March 11.
  • Where: Scone Senior Citizen’s Hall, Crn Cooper Street and Oxford Street, Scone.

  • What: The Scone Literary Festival is on this weekend with a range of fantastic authors and discussions. Below we have listed the sessions which still available on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday, March 14

Greater Northern Tiger’s Competition – Aberdeen

  • What: The Greater Northern Tiger’s teams, with plenty of local players, will be playing the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs and Parramatta Eels.
  • When:
    • 9.45am – Under 15s
    • 11am – Under 16s
    • 12:20pm – Under 18s
    • 1:45pm – Ladies
    • 3pm – Under 23s
  • Where: McKinnon Oval, Jefferson Park, 34 Macqueen Street, Aberdeen.

All the Foxy Ladies

  • What: A night with fabulous speakers telling their stories about love, loss and grief.
  • When: 6:30pm, Saturday, March 12.
  • Where: St Luke’s Hall, 79 Hill Street, Scone.

Scone Literary Festival – Soiree

  • What: Soiree, wine, light dinner and entertainment by the Stiff Gins – an indigenous entertainment group from Sydney.

Sunday, March 15

Scone Literary Festival – Bush Poets Breakfast

  • What: Join some of the Upper Hunter’s best bush poets in the gardens of Scone Arts & Crafts. Breakfast will be prepared by Matthew Evans, SBS Gourmet Farmer and Scone’s own Colin Selwood.
  • When: 7:30am – 9am, Sunday, March 15.
  • Where: Scone Arts and Crafts, 63 Kingdon Street, Scone.

Scone Literary Festival – COVID 19 Discussion

  • What: Winx has unfortunately been a scratching, so instead there will be a topical and timely discussion on COVID 19 mediated by David Dale, comparing the New Zealand and Australian approach and past pandemics such as the Spanish Flu.
  • When: 9:15am – 10:05am, Sunday, March 15.
  • Where: Tickets are available at the Scone Arts and Crafts, 63 Kingdon Street, however, many events are now being held at the Scone Grammar School.

Scone Literary Festival – Lazy Sunday Afternoon Book Club

  • What: Come along and discuss your favourite book.
