Finally Tally was 2000 Homes

INITIALLY Ausgrid estimated 600 homes were without power last night in the Upper Hunter following an intense thunderstorm, but calculations today indicate there were closer to 2,000.

The main areas affected included Satur, Segenhoe, Gundy and Moonan.

On Moobi Road there were power lines down, but other parts of the network were struck by lighting resulting in pockets of outages in some areas.

There were four field crews, a total of 12 people, which worked throughout the night to restore power.

At approximately 8:10pm last night 500 homes were brought back online, at 10pm another 1,100 and power was restored to the remaining homes by 2am.

Today there are four crews from Ausgrid continuing to fix the local electricity network.
